I was my pleasure to attend a function hosted on Thursday May 21 by Gayndah’s Aged Care facility, Gunther Village. The Biggest Morning Tea for 2026 started at 9.30am and was designed to raise funds and provide opportunity for interaction between residents and community members.
For the uninitiated, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is held by local communities Australia wide annually with the purpose of raising funds for the Cancer Council who will then support those affected by cancer. The event unites communities to fund life-saving research, prevention campaigns and crucial patient support services. The morning tea is held all over Australia on the same day and for 2026, it was Thursday 21 May. They say that more than one million people assembled on that date to make it all happen.
The function at Gunther encouraged Residents and community members to assemble, partake of the goodies on offer and take part in fund raising activities organised and presented by Gunther’s Lifestyle guru Deb Crawford.

I was pleased to be asked to go along and provide some music for the function. I played and sang from 9.30 until close to 11.00am.
