I received another request to fill in. A couple of days prior the event, I received a visit from the lady organising the Rotary Club’s Christmas Tree on Capper (not sure what the real name is but thats what I call it) asking me to provide some music for the event because the music for the event had not been organised. I agreed to do it since I had a short set of Christmas songs organised for the recent Gunther Christmas event we did. I didn’t have enough but in the two days until the event I had some time to put together enough songs to cover the thirty minutes I was asked to cover.

We loaded up the gear for the Thursday evening gig and set up ready to play at 6pm. It wasn’t long before Santa and his helpers arrived for the children and their parents to gather around.

While Santa did his thing to delight parents and most of the kids, the thing that seemed to excite, the kids the most was the arrival, via the back door, of the Gringe. So that was the young and not so young children catered for.

In order to keep the parents around a little longer, a spinning of the wheel was run as a fund raiser for the Rotary Club. That did the trick until well after 7pm when Santa left, as did the Gringe and most of the people. So I could leave also.
