On Tuesday February 24th, we were summoned to a function at Burnett State College at which students who had been voted to administrative position by the student body were presented with their badges. We were pleased to be able to be there to support our grandson Noah Coulson as he was awarded with his school captain badge.
Towards the end of 2025, students wishing to stand for a position for the 2026 school year were encouraged to do so by presenting their vision for the school to the assembled student body. Positions included School Captain, House Captain, and class representative for Student Council.
It would seem obvious that the school wanted two School Captains, one male and one female. The vote was held and Noah was elected male School Captain and Ella Smith was elected female School Captain.
It is pleasing to note that both Noah and Ella have some musical skills and we look forward to hearing and seeing some things musical from them during the year. Ella has already started a singing group and they performed the National Anthem at the beginning of the presentation ceremony.
