The night in the Waikerie Hotel/Motel cabins worked out well. There were no shops or anything else close by so we had to make do with what we had in the fridge. We had eaten all of the fruit we had purchased earlier because we crossed into South Australia. At the border, or just after it, there is an inspection point at which all vehicles have to stop and be searched for fruit. They want to keep the fruit fly out. It was not a real problem. A guy comes around and looks in all storage places including the fridge and we were on out way,.
It was only a couple of hours to Adelaide from Waikerie but we decided to charge once more so we didn’t have to drive through Adelaide traffic with potentially low charge. This next charger was at a place called Truro. Quite a pleasant stop and by the time we looked around a bit, the car was fully charged and we were on our way. Truro is relatively famous for a series of murders that happened there in the late 1970s. There were apparently seven young women murdered by a young male.
The trip into and through Adelaide went well. Really, straight through from the Northern Highway and turn left towards Glenelg and you are there. We arrived at about 11am.
