We decided to leave Canberra for the trip to Adelaide on Friday January 2nd rather that as we originally planned, Saturday January 3rd. The reason was that Jason and Lisa had to start work on Monday 5th, and seeing as we planned to take three days to make the trip, we thought it better that we arrive in Adelaide on Sunday so that they were home when we arrived.
We left Canberra at 8am and drove to Jugiong for the first charge. We didn’t need to charge there but it is a pleasant little place and we were just about ready for a toilet break, so Jugiong it was. Next stop was Wagga Wagga, really just a little bit east of Wagga at the BP service station. BP Pulse, as they call it, has been quite reliable when we have used them, although both the BP sites we used this year had some of the plugs not working. We drove on to Narrandera and charged there. We were able to buy some bread etc for lunch and then parked at the chargers and charged while we had lunch, quite a pleasant park.
Hay was the next planned stop and this was the first time that we couldn’t get a cabin because they were all booked out. We did eventually manage to find a cabin in Hay, the last one ther site had left, and booked in there. I went into town to charge up. It was interesting to see that NRMA have renewed most of the charging stations we have used with faster chargers and more of them in each site. All stations have at least two plugs and most have the four. While I was charging at Hay, there were EVs at all sites.
