Each morning, provided it is not too cold, my alarm goes off at 6:15am (my alarm goes off whether it is cold or not) and we arise and prepare to go for a bike ride. I should be more accurate and say an e-bike ride. And that is not totally accurate because Lorraine’s is an e-bike and mine is an e-trike. Depending on the track we take, the ride is about 11.5K and we get to ride through some urban streets and some country roads. We will tell the story via pictures we took on our ride this morning. I was hopeful that seeing mine was an e-trike, I would be able to take photos as I travelled along. But that was not the case. I had to stop when ever I wanted to take a photo. That was the same for Lorraine. So here we go.
Leaving home at about 6.30am with the local sports fields on the left. Lorraine is the dot on the road up ahead.
We get out to the Gayndah Golf Course and then turn around.
After turning aroung at the Golf Course, we turn left onto a dirt road which leads to a hill which give us some exercise prior to getting to the road which leads past the school. Lorraine is almost up the hill and I stopped to take a photo which was very good but I couldn’t get going again because the back wheel which provides traction was slipping on the gravel and since the electronic controls are PAS, that stands for pedal assist, no pedal, no assist. So I had to walk up the hill pushing the trike. And it is quite heavy.
The gravel road which takes you past the Burnett State College. One day during winter we rode along here past a group of high school students taking part in a school activity. Our grand daughter Imogen, supporting her grand parents to the rest of the class said nice things about her grandmother and advised them that her grandfather had a PDF, obviously she meant PhD.
After travelling past the school, the Ambulance Station, we turn right and prepare to travel down a significant hill. But prior to the hill is a this large jacaranda tree. A great way to prepare for the upcoming hill.
What goes up must come down. I had to stop to take this photo. Lorraine is down the bottom somewhere. I get up to agout 35kph going down this hill and probably faster if I didn’t use the brakes.
Gayndah Race Course. In a round about way, we get to the road the local race course is in. That is the same street our house is in but prior to getting home we have one more turn to take.
We don’t know the name of this road and we sometimes discuss what we would tell the people if we ever had to dial 000 if we had an accident. It does run down the side of the local show grounds so the ambulance would probably make it. We see all sots of locals along this road including kangaroos, emus, snakes, foxes as well as the local dogs.
