We left Cowra at about 7:15am to travel to Jugiong. I had never heard of Jugiong prior to our having to charge our EV but it is a rather small community slightly off the main highway but it is a pleasant place to visit so we charge there rather than some of the larger communities like Yass.
I didn’t plan the trip very well because in selecting the shortest distance on the map, our journey to Jugiong was via some very back roads, mostly bitumen but all narrow and through pleasant farm land.
The charger at Jugiong (image above) is owned by NRMA and since we were there last year they have installed a two plug unit rather that the single plug unit there last year. When we first plugged in, as the only EV charging, we were getting as much as the unit could supply.

A little while after we started charging, another BYD plugged in and cut our charging rate in half. It wsn’t too much of a problem to stay there a little longer because it is a pleasant area with pleasant ammenities.
We only had about 150Ks to get to the family’s place and this time, Apple Maps did a good job directing us on a ring road around Canberra and out to the suburb in which they live.
Both Dax and Selena were working from home so they were able to welcome us during their mid day lunch time.
