Left Moree on Saturday a little earlier than our usual 7am start and made it up to Goondiwindi a little earlier that the local town traffic. Charged there and started for our next stop at Toowoomba. We usually charge at the BP service station which is on the Warrego Highway at Charlton, just west of Toowoomba. That is mostly on our way without having to go into Toowoomba itself.
We decided that we needed to do a little grocery shopping and found some chargers at a shopping centre in the suburb of Wilsonton which wasn’t far off our beaten track and the chargers were provided by Evie. We like these chargers because, if one’s vehicle is registered with Evie, one drives up to the charger and just plug in – no having to worry about apps or cards.
It is a relatively large shopping centre and while we were hoping to shop in Aldi, we could’d find them so we made do with Woolworths. It was also good and cool in the centre so we stayed inside for a while.
We set off for Gayndah, planning to stop for lunch somewhere along the road. There are no where near as many rest areas once you get across the border into Queensland. We found a pleasant area in a small community called Kulpi. Never heard of it before but it did the job.
On leaving Toowoomba we noticed a storm front to the north which seemed to be travelling in the same direction as we were. We followed it and drove through it and the rain at around Nanango.
We stopped to charge at Goomeri and made it home at around 4pm. We unpacked the car and since Tanya had invited us to her place for the evening meal, we went down there a little after 6pm. The storm made it to Gayndah just at that time and we had about 25mls of rain.
Saturday 17th of January is Lorraine’s birthday and Imogen had made a birthday cake covered in Smarties. So we all enjoyed that cake following the meal.
